TODAY IS THE DAY

OMG I'M SO EXCITEDDDDDDDDD!!!!

Ok so, as far as getting a bus to take students to and from the event... Buses going to and from UMBC cost around $72 and hour and then they charge more for any place outside a 3 mile radius, which is pretty pricey. Do you think this is a good investment?

I have 3 tickets sold, I have a check from them, but I don't know who to make it out to! And I will buy them tomorrow.

So it turns out, I can't help set up on Saturday. I have an all day thing I HAVE to attend. It's literally ALL day. I feel horrible about not coming. However, I will be there for street team on Wednesday. Where and when do we meet and all? I am also willing to come bright and early on Sunday and help set up.

I've been so horrible with keeping up with this thing... Ah! Sorry guys...

So I will be at every day of 4100 Week and I will be there the whole time!! I am trying to figure out what goodies to bring :)

I have the autographed hat... I have to drop it off in Ms. King's office.

It also turns out I cannot do street team next week :( But I'm going to work very hard to draw ppl in this week!!

OK, so I talked to Katie Dix, and I think we're going to have a booth at Quadmania. She herself wouldn't be able to work the booth, so who would be willing to work it with me? Also, who wants to go with me to 4100 so we can make a basic layout for the event?

As everyone else has said, communication is a big issue right now. The best update i even got was a facebook message from Nick!! I'm thinking we need a contact list. Anyway, when in class today, there are a couple things I want to get done. There are lots of lists we need to make: memorabilia inventory, scheduling, history lay-out, etc. Hopefully we can get that done during group time. I hate to say it but I would like to go back to the club. A LAY OUT NEEDS TO BE MADE. We need to know what's going where. Also I talked to Paula Broglio. Ralph Friedgen might be out of town that weekend, BUT she said she's going to make 100% sure and email me back. We also would like to advertise at the Comcast Center. One last thing, I would like to know who will be working our booth at Quadmania. I don't want to leave it all up to Katie! I do plan on being there.

But on the bright side, I think everyone is doing SUCH a great job! I'm very excited

More stuff!

Ok, so since I last updated my blog...

I'm in the talks with Paula Broglio who is one of the secretaries for Ralph Friedgen (UMD's football coach).

I have found out only one of the former Miss 4100s. Her name is Stacy Ritter and supposedly is a friend of Stasi K's family!

I am still trying to collect memorabilia from my dad. I will see him the last weekend of spring break and plan on talking to him then!

I have told my sorority about the event as well and they said they'd love to come! yay! We've got one greek org on board! I will make an announcement at my next Multicultural Greek Council meeting and hopefully spread the word to as many greek orgs as I can!

Game Plan!

So it feels good to have an outline of everything we're gonna do! So far here is the event planning time line :

March 5-13: - Contacts (athletes, speakers, etc)
- Collect memorabilia

March 23- 30: -Confirm Radio Station
- Look at food and drink options, etc
- Talk about all outside equipment that's needed
- Memorabilia inventory

April 1-11: - Sort history, create timeline, and slide show
- Visit club to lay out structure
- Finalize staffing, placement and scheduling
- T-shirts

April 12-25: - Advertising
- Purchase needed supplies

April 25-May 9: - FINALIZE EVERYTHING
- Have complete list and schedule of everything; appearances, memorabilia, etc.
- Any extra things that pop up

I plan on doing the following:
- Call Ralph Friedgen, see if he'd be willing to make an appearance
- Find out past Miss 4100s
- Find more sports contacts and memorabilia through dad and other connections
- Try to contact Oprah (I know, it's far fetched, but since I will be in Chicago this weekend anyway, and it's where she shoots, the least I can do it try...)
